MASTERCLASS
Title: Multilingual and Cultural Storytelling in Creative Work
In this session, Chisom Winifred explores how language, culture, and lived experience can deepen creative work and expand its global reach. Drawing from her practice as a Nigerian writer published internationally, she will examine how multilingualism, code-switching, and cultural specificity can be used deliberately and confidently in fiction and poetry. Participants will learn how to honour their linguistic and cultural roots without over-explaining or diluting their work, how to navigate questions of audience and accessibility, and how to position culturally grounded stories for international readership. This session is ideal for writers seeking to tell authentic stories that travel.
